Usertesting is a platform where users are able to give commentary on websites and apps in exchange for cash. In addition to that, users are also given the opportunity to have a live video conference with customers or participate in surveys.
The testings usually range from 15 to 40 minutes for a payment of $10. Most of the task within the testings are quite simple and straightforward. With this in mind, this seems like a quick and easy buck. Although, there are downsides to using this platform.
In order for a user to qualify for each testing, the user will have to take a quick questionaire to predict their demographic. If the user fits the desired audience, then they can complete the testing. The only problem with this is that many users will only have a limited amount of testings available; not to mention, that many of the testings will be repeated. Meaning that users will take a series of surveys, allowing companies to get FREE personal data, without ever qualifying for one.
If a user is able to get a testing, then the actual process of completing the tasks are quite simply. The only requirements to complete most tasks are to speak thoughts out loud, give feedback, follow the instructions, and be in a quiet environment.

To start, I would somewhat consider myself one of the lucky testers. I have read and heard many stories about testers only being able to conduct around two to six testings in a week. In my first week, I was able to complete, an astonishing, four testings. To be fair, after a user completes their first test, then the testings will be reviewed and rated. This process delayed me around five days to participate in testings. For each of my completed tests, I have made $10. Overall, I was able to become $40 richer. At this rate, I will be a millionaire in over 500 years!! HAHA!
In all seriousness, this is a great (minor) side hustle. It will provide you with extra gas money or spare change. If you have spare time, consider the platform UserTesting to make some quick cash.
