How to grow sales on Etsy
The secret to my success…
Are you struggling to grow your Etsy shop ? If so, you have landed to the right place.
I started my Etsy account at the end of 2020. Despite my business skills being in shirts, I started a digital Etsy shop. I thought a digital product would less competitive in the Etsy marketplace. Although due to my late appearance on the Etsy market place, my shop was competing against millions of established and successful shops. My first month I was struggling to make sales. Even though I managed to get 23 sales during my first month of joining Etsy, I only accumulated $33.18. My first month showed me success was possible if I twitched my approach. Throughout my time selling on Etsy, I have encountered some rough patches. My revenue would fluctuate anywhere between $0.84 through $45.93. That is why shortly, I was able to turn my sales from $33.18 to now $838.74.

- Etsy Ads
I have a love-hate relationship with Etsy Ads. To begin during my entire time on Etsy, I have spent $208.31 while only making $126.47 in revenue. Despite this obvious gap, I still continue to use Etsy ads. Etsy Ads might not turn immediate shoppers into customers, but it will bring interest in shop which could lead to customers. Always set reasonable adsense budgets!! To begin, do not break your pockets paying for advertisement!! There are many other ways to advertise your product, whether it is through friends and family or social media.
- Social media
Tiktok is one of the best social media platforms to advertise your product for FREE! Making consistent post and engaging with your audience will take you a long way. Making a video that is satisfying or eye-catching is what will make a video viral. I personally have reached little success using this technique. Although. everyday I am gaining experience!!
Another basic step to help grow your etsy business is to have great product photos.
Here is a list of Do’s for your product photos:
- have a clear photo of your product
- add accessories to make your product pop
- make your product the center of attention
- have bright colors
- do not have a distracting background
The last important step I would like to mention, is to have a good product with good prices. Even though Etsy has quite a bit of seller fees, you do not need to skyrocket your prices. Buyers will be less willing to pay for products the higher it cost. It is also great to compare your prices, with the prices of etsy sellers selling similar items. It is a smart move to make your prices a bit lower than other sellers. In the end, someone is willing to take a risk on spending $5–20 but not so much on $75 and up.
There are numerous of other step to take to grow your etsy shop, but those some of the most important. I wish any of the Etsy sellers lucky! Feel free to visit my Etsy shop: QuirkyDesignshopCo!!
